QTU Fair Funding Now and Change the Rules Workplace Meeting Kit

The QTU is participating in two important national campaigns focussed on school funding (Fair Funding Now) and industrial relations (Change the Rules). 

 The Fair Funding Now campaign is the next phase of what was previously known as 'Gonski' campaign and will focus on gaining the support of QTU members, the families and friends, local parents and the broader community to see fair funding delivered to state schools. The Change the Rules campaign is being coordinated by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and workers across the country in all industries will be conducting meetings in their workplaces to show support for the campaign to fix Australia's broken industrial relations system that had taken away key rights of working people to bargain and organise and places too much power in the hands of employers. We are asking QTU members in workplaces across the state to conduct a workplace meeting to show support for both of these important campaigns in the lead up to the next federal election.

A series of motions have been crafted for your use at the meeting.  Your Union Representative has been supplied with the Guidelines for conducting these meetings, the ballot and returning the vote of the meeting to the union.

The QTU requests that you call a workplace meeting and conduct the associated ballot between Monday 21 May through to noon Friday 22 June.
